Buda & Pest

The first thing to know about Budapest is that it is actually two cities connected by the Danube. We stayed on the Pest side, but took tours on both sides.

Views of the Buda side of the city.

"The Quatro" - the three girls I hang out with all the time.

The Harry Potter Car!!

Hungary's gardens were all in bloom, even though it was freezing!

The sweet Champaign cruise. My night pictures didn't turn out well, so I'll get some from other people on the trip.

Every time we wanted to cross the river, we had to walk over this bridge. The bridge was under construction. The boards wobbled, and I felt like I could just fall off into the Danube! It was also really really long.

Everywhere we go, I try to eat a new food. This is fruit soup. The rectangle parts are apples. The soup also had cherries, raspberries, pears and blackberries. It was served cold.

I finally met a food I didn't like. This is cabbage stuffed with lamb and more cabbage! If you're familiar with bacon, the white curly substance on the top is pure bacon fat. Ick!

When the Soviet Union collapsed, the Hungarian government removed all the remaining monuments. In most countries they were destroyed, but in Hungary t

A two story market in Budapest. They had meat, vegetables, souvenirs, candy and alcohol. Upstairs they had some local fast food places too.

haha - it had fried onions like the kind on green bean casserole. It also had jalapenos.
